Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Chester and Philadelphia Railway Company dating back to the early 1900's. This document was printed by the Security Bank Note Company and measures approximately 11" (w) by 8 1/2" (h).
This certificate's vignette features a a pair of trolleys on a busy city street.

The roots of this line date back to 1900 with the incorporation of the Philadelphia & Chester Railway Company, which consolidated the Philadelphia & Delaware Street Railway and Prospect Street Railway.
The line was reorganized in 1910 as Chester & Philadelphia Railway Company, and was immediately leased to the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Company.
