Historical Context
This company was a small regional telephone company that served the Holdrege, Nebraska area.
Holdrege, located in the south central portion of Nebraska, was established in 1883 when the railroad was extended to that point. It was named for George W. Holdrege, a railroad official. Holdrege was designated county seat of Phelps County in 1884.
Holdrege is home of the Nebraska Prairie Museum.
