Intricately engraved antique stock certificate from the Cedar Rapids Northwestern Construction Co. dating back to the 1870's. This document was printed by the Western Bank Note & Engraving Company and measures approximately 10 1/2" (w) by 6 3/4" (h).

Historical Context
The Cedar Rapids North Western Construction Co. was incorporated in Iowa in 1870.
The company, which was controlled by Henry Clews, was a construction arm for his railroad companies.
In February of 1875, after Clews went bankrupt a year earlier, the company went into voluntary dissolution and liquidation.
