Intricately engraved antique stock certificate from the Carr-Consolidated Biscuit Company dating back to the 1950's. This document, which contains the printed signatures of the company President and Secretary, was printed by the American Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 12" (w) by 7 3/4" (h).
This certificate's great vignette features a topless allegorical female figure with a scythe, grains and a pumpkin.

Historical Context

The Carr-Consolidated Biscuit Company was based in Chicago, Illinois. The company was formed in 1947 as a consolidation of the J. B. Carr Biscuit Company (established in 1870) and the Consolidated Biscuit Company (established in 1920.)
The company had factories in Chicago; Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; Detroit, Michigan; Louisville, Kentucky; Peoria, Illinois; Boston, Massachusetts and Greenwood, South Carolina.
Carr-Consolidated produced graham crackers, cookies and saltines. Most of the products had the lead-in "Crackin' Good."
