Intricately engraved antique stock certificate from the Cannon Shoe Company dating back to the 1940's and 1950's. This document, which carries the printed signatures of the company President and Secretary, was printed by the E. A. Wright Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 11 1/2" (w) by 8" (h).
This certificate' triple vignette features views of one of the company's retail stores, an assembly line and one of the company's factories.
The Cannon Shoe Company was incorporated in Maryland in 1936.
The company sold a variety shoes to consumers and also had a number of government contracts to supply the military.
Some of the company's trademarks included Rugged Ramblers, Rough Riders, Bull Moose, Step-Well, The Cabellero and Air-Lites.
Over the years, the company's growth strategy involved purchasing smaller shoe companies, primarily along the east coast.
