Intricately engraved antique stock certificate from Broadway-Hale Stores, Inc. dating back to the 1970's. This document, which contains the printed signatures of the company Chairman of the Board and Secretary, was printed by the Jeffries Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 12 1/8" (w) by 8" (h).
This certificate's vignette features an allegorical male figure and a topless allegorical female figure flanking a framed tree.

Hale Brothers merged with Broadway Department Stores to form Broadway-Hale Stores Inc. The company, later known as Carter Hawley Hale Stores, owned the Emporium, Weinstock's and The Broadway.
There was also a smaller group of Texas based stores that were part of this consolidation – Nieman Marcus! Stanley Marcus soon thereafter became a top ranking executive of the company.
