Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Boston Consolidated Street Railway Company dating back to the 1880's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Secretary, was printed by the American Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 11" (w) by 7 1/4" (h).
This certificate's fantastic vignette features a detailed harbor scene with many masted ships and a paddlewheeler. Ornate plant adorns the bottom right corner.

The Boston Consolidated Street Railway Company was formed in August 1886 as a consolidation of the Middlesex Railroad and the Highland Street Railway.
The following year, the Boston Consolidated Street Railway was merged into the West End Street Railway Company. At the same time, the West End absorbed the Metropolitan Railroad and the South Boston Railroad.
