Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Black Hills Copper Company Limited dating back to the early 1900's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Secretary, was printed by the Republic Bank Note Company and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8 1/2" (h).
This certificate features a great vignette of 4 miners in a tight seam.

The Black Hills Copper Company Limited was incorporated in Arizona in March of 1899 by W. W. and R. A. Thomas, Doane Merrill, T. H. Brown and Thomas E. Metcald.
The company's claims were on the on Copper Reef Mountain, also called Whitetail Peak, five miles southwest of Rochford. The claims were composed of five patented claims the Climax and the Bee, MS 1912, Solnar, Copper Reef #1 and #2 and MS 1983.
At one time the company held 27 claims, covering 510 acres, but because of financial difficulties eventually lost all by 1919.
