Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Bergen County Railroad Company dating back to the 1880's. This document contains the signatures of the company President and Secretary, was printed by Francis & Loutrel and measures approximately 10" (w) by 6 1/2" (h).

The Bergen County Railroad opened in 1881 and ran from East Rutherford to Glen Rock.
The line was financed by the Erie Railroad Company in an effort to develop a route that avoided the bottlenecks that occured in Passaic and Paterson.
Today, it is part of New Jersey Transit's Bergen County Line.
