Intricately engraved antique bond certificate from the Atlanta and Charlotte Air Line Railway Company dating back to the 1950's. This document, which is signed by the company Vice President and Secretary, was printed by the American Bank Note Company and measures approximately 10" (w) by 15" (h).

The Atlanta & Charlotte Air-Line Railway resulted from an 1877 reorganization of the Atlanta & Richmond Air-Line Railway. In 1881 the A&CAL was leased to the Richmond & Danville Railroad.
In 1894, along with the R&D itself, it became a part of the Southern Railway.
