Nicely engraved antique stock certificate from the American Car and Foundry Motors Company dating back to the 1940's. This document, which carries the printed signatures of the company President and Treasurer, was printed by the Franklin Lee Division of the American Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8" (h).

Historical ContextThe American Car and Foundry Motors Company was founded in 1925 as a truck and bus making arm of the J. G. Brill Company. The company owned Hall-Scott Motor Car Company (100%) and Fageol Motors of Ohio (90%.)
In July of 1944, the American Car and Foundry Motors Company was merged into the Brill Corporation.
Later that same year, Brill merged with the American Car and Foundry Company to form the ACF-Brill Motors Company.
