The Alaska United Gold Mining Company was one of three companies owned by John Treadwell - the others being the Alaska Treadwell and the Alaska Mexican.
The company's properties included the Ready Bullion and Seven Hundred Foot claims. Work commenced at the Ready Bullion in 1898, and the following year at the Seven Hundred Foot The claims were located on Douglas Island, Treadwell, Alaska.
The Treadwell mines pioneered in the field of low cost mining and the use of hydroelectric power, and were an Alaska mining stalwart.
