Historical Context
This company was originally incorporated as California Microwave, Inc. before becoming Adaptive Broadband Corporation in 1987. The company was based in Sunnyvale, California and manufactured microwave and satellite equipment for the deployment of broadband wireless communication over the Internet.
In the first quarter of 2001, Adaptive was purchased by the Western Multiplex Corporation for $645 million of stock, with Adaptive becoming a subsidiary of Western Multiplex. However, Adaptive declared bankruptcy later that year.
