Historical Context
The Acme Moving Picture Producing Company was incorporated in New Jersey in 1915 and was based in Absecon.
Spearheaded by Edmund Cobb, the company's grand plan was to produce westerns at studios in New Jersey and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
However, there is no evidence the company ever produced a single film. The company had planned to sell $100,000 of stock, but filings with the state of New Jersey for 1916 showed capitalization at only $4,663. It was the only filing the company ever made, and there is no evidence the company survived past 1917.
