Historical Context
The Weehawken Ferry Company was originally incorporated in New Jersey in March of 1852 to run a from 42nd Street in New York City to a point north of Dea's Point in Hudson County, New Jersey. The company operated ferries from 1859 to 1872.
In 1873 the line was acquired by the New Jersey Midland Railroad and the name company became the Midland Terminal and Ferry Company.
The company operated the Rodman M. Price, the Lydia and the Abbie.
