Nicely engraved antique stock certificate from the Connecticut Mills Company, Inc. dating back to the 1920's and 1930's. This document was printed by the American Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 11" (w) by 7 1/2" (h).

Historical Context
In 1910 Tracy Lewis organized the Connecticut Mills Company, of Danielson, Connecticut, and at that time began to build up an automotive tire fabric manufacturing organization. Mr. Lewis was president, treasurer and buyer of the Connecticut Mills Company until his death.
In 1913 Mr. Lewis and his associates organized the Canadian Connecticut Mills, Ltd., of Sherbrooke, Canada. This was a subsidiary of the Connecticut Mills Company. In 1917 the Connecticut Mills Company bought the Nemasket Mill of the New England Cotton Yarn Company and organized the Taunton Cotton Mills Company, which made tire yarns for the company.
Later, the company obtained control of the Danielson Cotton Company of Danielson, Connecticut, and the Globe Mills of Fall River, Massachusetts.
