Historical Context
The Texanna Oil & Refining Company was incorporated in Texas and was based in Fort Worth.
The March 3, 1923 edition of United States Investor had this to say about the company:
"The Texana Oil & Refining Company seems to be financing itself by taking over small or defunct oil companies and requiring stockholders in those companies to buy stock or bonds of the succeeding company on the pretext that their former “investment” is wiped out.
While some of the properties acquired in this manner may be valuable it seems probable that more of these properties have little or no value, since their original proprietors found operation unprofitable for one reason or another. In any event, stockholders find themselves faced with the problem of losing what they have already put in or risking more money in an attempt of saving an investment that has practically ceased to exist."
Based on the lack of any real production statistics, it appears the new company did not find much success either, meaning any investors who bought in were two-time losers.
