Historical Context
Telepost was incorporated in Maine as high speed alternative to the standard 15 word a minute telegraph systems that were currently available in the early 20th century.
The company touted a number of trunk lines being built across the country, but actual results were much more spotty.
As time went by, the company, and its President H. Lee Sellers, came under scrutiny for multiple incorporations over 9 states - Maine (two separate entities), New Jersey, Massachusetts, South Dakota, New York, Delaware, Missouri and Illinois - which diluted the company's stock offering from the stated $18,000,000 capital to over $33,000,000.
