Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the King Edward Silver Mines dating back to the early 1900's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Secretary, was printed by the American Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 11" (w) by 7" (h).
This certificate's fantastic vignette features King Edward himself.

Historical Context
King Edward Silver Mines was incorporated in Maine in 1906. The company acquired the Watts and McChesney tract, situated 1,300 feet from the Nipissing, and totaling 80 acres.
Properties were held through two subsidiary companies - Edward Cobalt Mines, Ltd. (all the $100,000 stock was owned by King Edward Silver Mines), and Watts Mines, Ltd. ($800,000 of the $1,000,000 capital stock was owned by King Edward Silver Mines.)
