Historical Context
The Geuda Springs Health Resort Company was incorporated in Geuda Springs, Kansas in 1920 to rebuild and improve the site of the Geuda Springs Hotel which has recently burned.
Plans called for the hotel to have 80 rooms, and the construction of a large dam that would increase the size of the lake. On the shores, a dancing pavilion, bath house and bottling works (for the lake's "therapeutic" mineral waters) were to be built as well. Finally, an extensive amusement facility was planned to make the it one the largest health and amusement resorts in the state.
However, the company could not replicate to success of the previous hotel, and it's aggressive plans never led to any sort of success.
