Historical Context
The Citizens Passenger Railway Company was incorporated in Pennsylvania in 1858, and was one of the numerous Philadelphia trolley lines that dominated the city during the late 1800's and early 1900's.
The line was leased in 1892 to the Frankford & Southwark Railway, which was subsequently leased to the Electric Traction Company of Philadelphia in 1893.
