Historical Context
This line would have obtained Oregon's first transcontinental railroad connection with the Central Pacific in Nevada and would have come into the Wilamette Valley by the Middle Fork route used by the Oregon Central Military Road.
The line as promoted by B. J. Pengra. Other backers in the venture were Eugene citizens.
While preliminary financing was obtained, the line never was completed.
