North American Cigarette Manufacturers, Inc. was incorporated in 1958 to manufacture a cigarette under the trade name of "Diplomat." The company advertised that the cigarette was safer for smoking, as a result of this process used in the making of Diplomat, which supposedly neutralized the nicotine.
The company, which was based in New York, does not to appear to have ever become commercially viable.
