Nicely engraved antique stock certificate from the Confederated Home Abattoirs Corporation dating back to the 1920's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Treasurer, was printed by the Broun-Green Co. and measures approximately 12 1/4" (w) by 8 1/2" (h).

The Confederated Home Abattoirs Corporation was incorporated in Maine in 1921 and was based in Portland. There was also a company with the same name in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
The company operated a meat packing facility but was never able to compete with the Chicago packers - which dominated the market at the time.
An abattoir is another name for a slaughterhouse.
