Historical Context
The Batavia and Northern Railroad Company was incorporated in New York in 1895 as a consolidation of the original Batavia and Northern Railroad (incorporated December 4, 1894) and the Oak Orchard Harbor Railroad Company. The tow original companies were formed to run lines between Batavia and Oak Orchard on Lake Ontario - a distance of approximately 28 miles. |
