Historical Context
Daniel Reeves Stores was a grocery store chain which eventually grew to almost 300 units in the New York City area and over 400 in total. The business was founded as a single store by the father and uncle of former NFL coach Dan Reeves, who worked their way up from fruit peddlers.
Daniel Reeves Stores merged with Safeway, Inc, in 1941.
