Historical Context
The Indiana, Decatur and Western Railway was incororated under general laws of Indiana and Illinois through articles of consolidation dated April 30, 1895, filed in Illinois on July 16th; and in Indiana on July 18th.
On September 26, 1902 the line was consolidated with the Cincinnati, Hamilton and Indianapolis Railroad to form the Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Western Railway.
