Historical Context
This bond was issued to help fund repairs to roads and bridges that were damaged during a massive flood in 1927.
A storm ravaged the state on November 3rd and 4th resulting in bridges and roads being washed away, railroad beds being destroyed and farmlands devastated.
As a result, the state approved a $8.5 million bond issue to fund repairs.
