Historical Context
The Midwest Athletic Club was located 6 N. Hamlin Avenue in Chicago's West Garfield Park neighborhood.
The company's stately building was originally a hotel and athletic clubhouse and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 18, 1984.
During its days as an athletic center the building was used as a training site by Muhammad Ali and the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team.
