Historical Context
The roots of this company go back to 1890 with the incorporation of the Detroit Suburban Street Railway. Two years later, the company became the Wyandotte & Detroit River Railway.
In 1901, the company became part of the Detroit United Railway conglomerate.
The company's cars started from the City Hall in Detroit, and ran west on Fort Street and south on the River Road to River Rouge, Ecorce, Wyandotte, Sibley's and Trenton.
