Historical Context
Grigsby-Grunow was founded in Chicago in 1927 and marketed radios under the Majestic name. The company quickly became the largest radio producer in the United States, as the Majestic line was known for its superior speakers and parts.
However, the Great Depression killed the company's momentum and Grigsby-Grunow was bankrupt by 1933. The Majestic name was carried on by its successor - the Majestic Radio and Television Corporation.
The company also manufactured refrigerators - which the company marketed as the "Mighty Monarchs of the Arctic."
