Historical Context
The Knox Tire and Rubber Company was incorporated in Ohio and was based in Mount Vernon. The company was organized by B. E. Frantz, and completed construction of a modern production facility in Mount Vernon in December of 1920.
However, the company could never gain ground in the newly competitive consumer car tire market, and quickly went into receivership. The Knox Tire & Rubber Company was sold at auction in 1922.
