Additional Details
Fascinating piece of financial history from this Borden foods subsidiary!
Borden Chemical was a major division of the Borden Company that became a significant player in the plastics industry, particularly known for its production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM). The company grew to operate multiple plants, including a large complex in Geismar, Louisiana, but eventually spun off its chemical business in 1987 into a separate entity called Borden Chemicals and Plastics LP.
Borden Chemicals and Plastics LP filed for bankruptcy in the early 2000's and its assets were liquidated.
