Product Details
Intricately engraved antique stock certificate from the Kootenay Gold Exploration Company dating back to the 1910's. This document, which has been signed by the company Vice President and Secretary, was printed by Goes and measures approximately 11" (w) by 8 1/4" (h).
The vignette features a group of miners working a seam. At the bottom center this an underprint which also shows a mining scene.

Historical Context
The Kootenay Gold Exploration Company was incorporated in Washington in 1916, with offices in Spokane.
The company worked the Poorman, Hardsscrabble, White, Hardup, Myemer, Electric, Green Horn Fractional, White Swan, Granite, Red Rock Fractional, Tamarac Fractional, Blue Grouse and White Swan Fractional. Collectively, these claims were known as the Granite-Poorman group. All were located in British Columbia, Canada.
In July 1919, the company's properties were acquired by the Inland Mining Company.
