Historical Context
The Cactus Consolidated Mining Company was incorporated in 1914, in Delaware as a reorganization of the Cactus Copper Company, which was a reconstruction of the Cactus Development Company. The company's original properties were five claims in the Myers Creek District of Washington.
In March of 1915, the company acquired the Mammoth group, which consisted of 22 quartz claims, over 440 acres, in Kern County, California. The company also owned the Leona gold mine - another Kern County property.
