Historical Context
The Standard Ribbon Machine Co. was incorporated in Arizona and was based in Chicago.
The company's invention was designed to reduce the cost of inked ribbons, particularly for use on typewriting, duplicating and multiple printing machines, to reduce the wear and tear on such machines and ribbons, and particularly to reduce the "effort of the machine manipulator in producing well written and evenly inked work."
