The Shreveport–El Dorado Pipe Line Company was founded by John B. Atkins, Sr., an important figure in the development of the Shreveport area during the early 1900’s.
The company was incorporated under the general laws of the State of Louisiana on April 21, 1921.
The pipeline property owned by the Shreveport-El Dorado Pipe Line Company, Incorporated, aggregated 209.57 miles and consisted of 85.63 miles of trunk lines, with branches extending from Cornie Station, Arkansas, to Shreveport, Louisiana, and of 124.94 miles of gathering lines situated in Arkansas and Louisiana. The company also operated a refinery.
The company merged with the Shreveport Producing and Refining Company, Incorporated, on November 22, 1928, and was later acquired by the Spartan Refining Company.
