The line began service in Albany later that year. In 1899, the line was electrified, and later that same year it was merged with the Troy City Railway, the Watervliet Turnpike and Railway Company and the Lumber District Line to form the United Traction Company.
The United Traction Company was purchased by the 14, 1864 as horse drawn trolley line.
The line began service in Delaware & Hudson in 1906.
