Historical Context
The Cosgrove-Meehan Coal Corporation was incorporated in Delaware on October 7, 1922.
The company owned twelve bituminous coal mines in Cambria, Indiana; Allegheny and Somerset Counties in Pennsylvania; and Williamson, Bond and Montgomery Counties in Illinois. In total, the company's operations covered over 18,000 acres of land.
The company re-organized as the Cosgrove-Meehan Coal Company in 1942 and filed for bankruptcy shortly thereafter.
